Most of this 89-minute made-for-TV movie takes place on the evening of the date, during which the young couple never actually make it to the dance, but do go on a shopping spree, watch his dad's company car get stolen, get in a fight with some rednecks, put on a magic show at a pool hall, and attend an anti-presidential protest. Dabney Coleman plays her presidential dad and Jay Thomas plays his father, who despite their political differences team up to find their wayward offspring. Part Mel Brooks madcap, part Roman Holiday for the younger set, this Disney offering manages to keep up a lively pace with some sly turns and humor that doesn't condescend. Keeps you wondering how it will end which is the best part. Rating: - funny and loviablei watch this movie on the disney channle one night with my friend and we both agreed it was quite a suprise. the movie looked like an 'Old' movie AKA 1990's. so we both thought there we're going to be funny old jokes and chessy effects. i was quite suprised at how well it was put together and it was an excellent movie. i also thought at the beging of the movie that the boy will be a jerk and go crazy we're as he was the one who kept his cool when the girl went crazy and started getting bratty. so ...
