Editorial Review: Amazon.com: Eric Benét is a significant contender in the line of young soul men (Maxwell, D'Angelo, Kenny Lattimore) who combine thoughtful lyricism, an old school R&B feel, and smooth sensuality. One listen to Benét's second solo album, and there's no doubt about it: the Milwaukee native has all the elements to become a major star. The vocal and lyrical influence of Stevie Wonder is evident on "Lamentation," "Why You Follow Me," and the emotive ballad "Come As You Are," while Wyclef Jean's contribution, "Loving Your Best Friend," is one of the disc's highlights. Still, Benét is very much his own man on cuts like "When You Think of Me" (featuring '70s jazz-funk pioneer Roy Ayers) and the heart-wrenching slow jam "Love the Hurt Away." --David Nathan Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - greati like eric benet and enjoy this cd. i don't skip any of the songs. Rating: - Eric BenetThis is the best cd Eric Benet has made so far. Gorgy Porgy is the best song on this albumn. If you're looking for a good albumn throughout, this is the one.......A Day In The Life Rating: - GREAT---A Must Have This is a very good cd, like the woman he had. I can not get into his newest cd because of that, for some reason, I do not know why. Rating: - Fabulous!!This is my favorite Eric Benet CD. Just put this in and push Play. Excellent from start to finish. Come As You Are is absolutely one of his best songs. Rating: - Definitely his best workNo sophomore slump here. This is just good music through and through. Eric's smooth delivery is truely unique. He like Maxwell don't truely get the credit they deserve. I've always been surprised that this CD didn't make him a super star, instead he became Mr. Berry--and that didn't work out too well either. But this is about his music and this CD is good music.
