Editorial Review:

Product Description:
The touching tale of a nine-year-old boy who magically brings his three-inch toy indian to life. Together they embark on an amazing adventure filled with wonder and excitement. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 04/22/2008 Starring: Hal Scardino Litefoot Run time: 97 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Frank Oz

Amazon.com:
Young Hal Scardino stars as a sensitive boy who discovers a way to bring plastic toys to life in a locked cupboard. One of those toys, a 19th-century Iroquois warrior (played by actor Litefoot), was actually a real warrior now only several inches tall. A bond eventually develops between boy and warrior, and a six-shooting toy cowboy (David Keith). As with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Indian in the Cupboard (which was written by E.T. scribe Melissa Mathison) is about a magical visitor connecting with a lonely child. But director Frank Oz (In & Out) has made the film far too stiff and dramatically flat to get across the enchantment necessary to make the fantasy work. Watching this is like listening to someone who can't tell a good story to save his life, yet who is trying to captivate your attention and heart. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Way too violent
My 10 year old son was reading this book in class and we decided to watch the movie as a family. About half-way through the movie is a scene, absolutely not in the book, where Native Americans are shot by "cowboys", scream in pain and die. My son was so distressed, we had to turn the movie off. I have since met three other families whose children had nightmares or other strong negative reactions to this totally unnecessary graphic violence. I will admit that my 8 year old daughter was not bothered ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - indian in the cupboard
indian in the cupboard good movie but i wanted the action figures more, ive been looking since the movie first came out and now i finally have them all!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Indian in Cupboard
This is an excellent movie for families. It gets children's imaginations working and promotes discussion on right/wrong, caring, discovering that "different" people aren't so very different after all. Highly recommended.
