Amazon.com Review: The American-based company Lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. No other metal is as long-lasting and works as well for spreading and retaining heat evenly during cooking. Lodge's Logic line of cookware comes factory pre-seasoned with the company's vegetable oil formula, and is ready to use right out of the box. At 10-1/4 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep, this 5-quart Dutch oven holds a heap of chili, chicken and rice, or fruit cobbler. This model is not the campfire style, with legs, wire handle, and a lid for coals. This one is flat-bottomed to sit on a stovetop burner or in the oven, with a domed lid that sends moisture back into the pot. Loop handles aid in carrying with oven mitts. While the Dutch oven comes pre-seasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. After the meal is done, simply scrub the cast iron with a stiff brush and hot water, no soap, and dry immediately.  Rating:  - I am glad I got it.This is the first cast iron dutch oven I have ever purchased and I am glad I did. The seasoning appears to be perfect, there is no off smell (even after I have used it) and there is no rust or imperfections. I cannot speak about every dutch oven that came off the line, but, I am glad I ignored the negative reviews and purchased this product. Rating: - 5-Quart Dutch OvenScrub (without soap) first, let dry, add 1 large bottle of peanut oil, heat and french fry 2 or 3 pounds of potatoes to season Dutch Oven, and you're all set to cook your favorite recipes. The top will also fit the 10-1/2" round griddle plus regular skillet - very kewl. Rating: - Use it evey dayI love it so much, and use it to cook healthy food everyday. It doesn't stick at all if you heat the pot first, pour a little bit cold vegetable oil, then cook your vegetable or meat immediately. The only problem is that it is pretty heavy and hot.
