 Rating:  - smell of hot plastic not pleasantI bought 2 of these heaters for separate areas of the house. We started using one right away, and the smell of hot plastic made me postpone opening the other one until I was sure the smell was temporary. When it hadn't gone away after 28 days, I returned the second one. I'm sensitive to odors like that. If they don't bother you, it's a decent heater in other respects; if they do, you may want to run it somewhere else for a good long time before you bring it into your living space. Also it seemd to need to be shut down and plug pulled to reset for what every reason when it stops working. (per manufacturer instructions).
