However I found that these shorts truly helped eliminate my muscle fatigue on longer rides as they advertised. I bought a size L, one size larger than I normally wear, because I didn't want to feel like I had on a girdle. I have rather muscular legs. If my thighs were thinner I think a medium would work fine. I wasn't having problems with the back end since I had also purchased a new seat for my bike that makes a long ride much more comfortable. My preference would be that the padding would be wider in the front (I have been wearing the shorts backwards).
