The blade and sleeve isn't quite as sturdy as I had hoped for since the plastic stem to me looks very thin. It has a lot of torque for a little guy but I wonder how long it will hold up against shredding hard cheese. I am sure time will tell. I wish Cuisinart would have made a 6 cup mini prep. The 4 cup is rather misleading since you can't really get a good amount in at one time. Rating: - A great product for Small jobsWe love this processor. It is perfect for normal use, a bit small for party's. We use this for salsa, onions etc... Almost every meal we use it for some small chopping, grinding or mixing job. I love using it for the garlic cream cheese for celery. We had the Black and Decker one before this and loved it. The only part that makes this better is that all the parts that get covered with food go in the dishwasher. This was not the case with the Black and Decker. Rating: - Not worth the moneyI found that this machine did not chop very well or evenly. After two uses, the motor stopped working (and all I was chopping was a can of tomatoes!). I exchanged it for a new unit since I couldn't get a refund, but only used it a couple times over the next year when my smaller machine was too small for the job. I pulled it out last night for it's third or fourth use... And once again the motor was burned out! Definitely not worth the money or hassle. Rating: - blends well, but a bit wimpyThe mini-prep does a great job of blending small amounts of food and takes up very little counter space. I've used it to make pesto and hummus, and to blend a flaxseed oil and cottage cheese mixture with berries (sometimes partially frozen), and for the most part it just chugs along and processes really well. But it does bog down sometimes and just stop if you fill it more than about half full, and I've had to dig out some of the blended stuff and let it work on the rest, so the motor may be a ... Read More Rating: - Works For Me!I purchased this mini food processor quite recently, and we use it all the time, mainly to chop and mix healthy steamed vegetables with potatoes or rice. This way, we end up with a lot less carbs, but still get the satisfaction of having potatoes or rice. So far, I have not used it for anything else, but it handles what we need just fine. It is pretty easy to clean and handles very simply. Also, the Amazon price really rocks -- I bought this on Amazon for about half of what I would have paid ...
