Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Medieval: Total War Gold Edition is a compilation of the critically acclaimed Medieval: Total War and its official expansion pack - Total War Kingdoms. Set in the turbulent Middle Ages, Medieval puts you in command of your own empire as you crush neighboring kingdoms and unify all of Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. Medieval: Total War Kingdoms features four entire campaigns centered on expanded maps of the British Isles, Teutonic Northern Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. In Medieval II, you were only given a glimpse of South America, but in Kingdoms, vast tracts of land in both North and South America have been opened up for you to conquer. All-new factions from the New World are also now fully playable, including the Aztecs, Apaches, and Mayans. In both games, you rule all aspects of your kingdom throughout centuries of medieval warfare. Lay siege to mighty fortresses and command vast armies across the battlefields of Europe and North Africa. This is Total War.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - my son loves this but.......
Got this for my son for Xmas this year and had problems from the get go. Trouble loading it, the Sega support website was less then helpful. Read up on this game on many other websites and came to the conclusion that it just has a lot of inherent problems. He has Rome Total War and loves it - no problems getting that game to run. We are sending this back- it crashes or reverts to a previous point in the game witout notice, the sound suddenly turns off and some sort of DOS command window pops up occasionally. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - AMAZING!!!!
This game is so much fun. It has strategy but it isn't as complicated I had origanly thought. THIS IS A MUST BUY.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Medieval 2
This games is a pefect blend of realistic real-time strategy and innovative turn-based games. It is quite historically accurate especially when compared to other games based during this time period. It also allows players with a lot of replay value.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Turn based strategy-with real time battles
I have played total war since Shogun TW- I am a fan of turn based strategy all the way back to the best one, Chess. For those of you who do not know about this game, do not be fooled by the RTS label. This is 'not' a real time strategy in the true sense. Consider playing Risk/with infinite more detail to growing your power base. Taxes/Building/Training armies/ politics and Diplomacy, it's all there.
You might even learn a little bit of History as you go.
This gold edition is a deal. I purchased the ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The Problem with Sequels
This game is a sequel of the earlier Medieval Total War, which was one of the greatest computer games ever known to man. Compiling this game, they tried to incorporate the best aspects of the previous series, Rome Total War, and ratchet it up a step. Unfortunately what passes for improvement has all the downfalls that are common among computer game sequels these days.

Computer game sequels are rarely as good as the originals in fun, but instead tend to be more mundane games with better graphics. ... Read More
