Editorial Review: Album Description: In one of the biggest jumps ever recorded in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Rihanna's newest single "Take A Bow" rockets from #53 to #1 this week. "Take A Bow" also debuts at #1-bullet on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart with a phenomenal first week of 266,696 scans. The song was written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, the same team responsible for Rihanna's "Unfaithful" (of 2006), and "Hate That I Love You," her Top 10 duet with Ne-Yo released late last year. "Take A Bow" raises the curtain on the upcoming new CD U.S.release of Rihanna's GOOD GIRL GONE BAD: RELOADED. The new configuration arrives in stores on June 17th - the week after the album officially marks its historic 52nd week on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The original 12-song CD version of GOOD GIRL GONE BAD - source of the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), then "Shut Up and Drive," "Hate That I Love You" (featurĀing Ne-Yo), and the current "Don't Stop the Music" - will now be augmented with three bonus tracks: 1) "Take A Bow"; 2) a cover version of Maroon 5's "If I Never See Your Face Again" (featurĀing Maroon 5); and 3) "Disturbia." GOOD GIRL GONE BAD (released June 5, 2007) was the third album release in less than two years by multi-platinum MTV VMA, Grammy, and American Music Award winning artist - and CoverGirl spokesperson - Rihanna. It followed-up 2006's RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, containing the back-to-back hits, "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful"; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the worldwide smash, "Pon De Replay." ![]() Rating: - A New Album for Three Songs?Pretty slimey on the part of the record company rereleasing the 2007 version of the an album a year later with three new songs tacked onto the old version. Couldn't they come up with more than three new songs so they could release a new album? I already have the 2007 version...I'm not buying the 2008 version. What's next? Another three new songs for a 2009 re-rerelease? Rating: - Good CDThe Cd is worth purchase if you are a fan. The CD has several hits old and newer. Rating: - what a pity.........the US-version of this Rihanna latest outing doesn't have the song "Cry"(UK exclusive bonus track...WTF? How about her fans in the US and also from around the globe?). Another evil marketing ploy played by the people in the music industry who are milking her success while she's on heavy rotation around the world. "Reloaded", "Special Extended Version", etc. It seems useless buying the first pressed cds. Because after a very SHORT while, the greedy music company will released...ooops, ... I play her record every day, since the day I've got her album. Robyn thank you for your songs...Jakob Rating: - This good girl is pretty bad; that is, bad meaning good...Some say that Rihanna is just a gimmick. I actually had a debate with some friends recently on Rihanna and Beyonce, trying to decide who the better singer was. Don't get me wrong, in all technical terms Beyonce has the better voice, but I hate the term technical for it has no emotion attached to it. Technical is just a lazy term we adopt to try and give our opinions validity. You either enjoy listening to Beyonce's blandly familiar vocals or you don't. Honestly, she has pipes, but her pipes ...
