Rating:  - Long time computer userUsed Norton Utilities a couple of times in the early and mid 80's. Messed up the computer both times and had to get rid of the software. Tried Norton products again in the mid 90's. Messed up the computer. Very annoying to use. Got rid of the software. Several months ago changed to ATT U-verse highspeed internet. A month or two later decided to download the Norton Antivirus that comes with the account, hoping their products might have changed. Now many lockups on IE browser. Rating:  - Slows your computer to a crawl!I bought this for my brand new Dell, and immediately noticed the difference in speed, and the increase in crashes. This product *may* protect you from viruses (I didn't keep it on my computer long enough to tell), but it's not worth the hassle. My computer has never run as well as it did before I installed this monster. You yourself a favor and don't buy it. (McAfee is no better, BTW.) Rating:  - GooodThe package came in record time and, as promised, the only thing missing was the UPC code. Software was still in the package and ready to be used. Rating: - I'm sorry that I listened to the reviewsThis type of Norton performs outstandingly well...but the reason for my title is that I had the Norton Internet Security trial on my computer...it as well performs just as great. The thing is that I confused myself inrefence to which one to buy instead using common sense and buy the one I had as a trial. I felt more securer knowing that I had a device that protect my info when I'm on the internet...rather than the limited protection that I have as of now. I don't know why people on here have had so many problems with them...but then again...my computer was made in 2007...maybe that has some to do with it. Both products are great to have depending on what you do(as in projects)on your computer. Norton all the way for me. |
