Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Huge dissapointment
I bought this keyboard for my brother as a Christmas gift. We found out after plugging it in that the W A S and D keys did not work properly. He would have to push it 4-5 times before the letters would type, which is strange considering its a gaming keyboard and WASD are important gaming keys.

So I returned it to Amazon and received another one, and the new one was wobbly! The plastic arm rest that came with it was not level and so the entire keyboard was unstable. I was very unhappy with this product, for the price that it costs I would except much better quality, and all in all I was very dissatisfied.

Pros: Full featured gameing keyboard, included software is functional and very configurable. The two USB ports are a welcome addition, as is backlighting of the board. Layout of keyboard is comfortable and I especially like the LCD display which supports additional downloadable views, such as internet bandwidth activity. A sturdy well made unit.

Cons: Backlight for keyboard has two brightness settings, could use a third higher intensitiy setting. Most keys are not evenly illuminated, with upper part of the key character (about 20% of the upper half) not benefiting from the the backlight intensitiy.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Change for the worse?
I keep coming across this product version as I shop for gamepads and mice. I keep looking at it and thinking, "What the heck did they do?" so I thought I better say something. For me and my WoW gaming the best thing about the OLDER version was the three columns of programmable keys along the left hand side. I didn't think they were enough but now they've cut them back to one column? What the heck?!

The flashy window feature I've always found more gimmicky than useful. The one place I kind of like it is while playing WoW and talking on Vent, it lets you see who is actually talking. But other than that, its just a bell and whistle, eye candy kind of thing.

I have no complain about this keyboard.I recommend to anyone want to have a keyboard with a light, specially when you have your computer in the corner and doesn't have that much light...and when you want to type something...It's perfect! Quit and easy to use.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - What a change!
First off, I've only owned this keyboard for about five hours, now... and already, I'm astounded. Up until a few hours ago, I had been using a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard -- and that served me many long good years (until I was stupid/clumsy enough to spill hot coffee in to it).

Anyway, this keyboard has a GOOD feel to it... as an old Sun person, it's a feel I'd expect from a high-quality keytronics keyboard - good firm keys with a "sharp" key click, but smooth and solid down to the bottom of the stroke. The keys are a little bit smaller than I'm used to, even though part of my daily grind includes a laptop (but I have a desktop keyboard and, as I said, my home machine was an ergonomic keyboard that I enjoyed using).

The backlighting on the keys is "pleasant" -- it's not terribly bright (particularly in a dark room with a bright monitor / white background). It IS bright enough, however, to be able to glance down so-as to "clarify" where your hand position is... I don't think I'd want to be looking at it if I didn't at least have a somewhat reasonable touch-type ability (I'm not a touch typist/purist, but I also don't need to look at my fingers once I'm "set" on the keyboard, either).

As far as integration goes, so far I'm impressed with the functionality... simply being able to glance down and see things like CPU load, RAM usage, and clock are nice (no more looking for the systray on Windoze). Furthermore, the keyboard integrated directly in to EverQuest II and Ventrillo *without* me really needing to do A THING (for the gamers, that includes nice hooks that essentially move part of your UI down on to the keyboard -- such as character stats for your MMO or channel/talker info for Vent). Also, any quick search on the net would seem to reveal just how-much-more really is possible with this keyboard with "support by the masses."

My only real "critique" with this keyboard is the fact that, even with the keyboard "jacks" extended, the keyboard fees like it's laying "flat" across the desk. Again, having run slanted laptop "cooling" pads and ergonomic keyboards for a good number of years, I feel I'm more used to the numbers being "higher" than, say, the space-bar. However, I think I can deal with this...

I also like the fact that this keyboard comes equipped with /two/ USB ports in the top of it... now between it and my flat panel, I have four ports within easy reach for the inevitable memory stick I have in my hands (though honestly with three monitors on my desk, the ports in the side of the monitor aren't always easily reachable -- so these are a welcome addition for me).

So, after only a few hours... I see myself liking this keyboard -- and here I thought I'd "always" use an ergonomic/split keyboard (even to the point that I have run separate keypads at work). I've always wanted a good backlit keyboard and this fits the bill nicely... can't wait to see what else I can do with it!
