Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Why didn't I buy this sooner!
I've had this projector for a little over a month and absolutely love it! I have a fairly large apartment (14' ceilings) so getting a projector was an inevitable purchase for me. After doing some thorough research - because who wants to drop $1K for something that doesn't work - I found that the Optoma HD65 was pretty much the best quality for my budget ($1,000). To keep it simple, here's the pros and cons:

Pros:
- 15' x 9' screen! That's 180 inches across! And the best thing about it is that even at that size, the picture still rivals that of some HD TVs I've seen.
- Multiple resolutions (screen sizes) that you can switch very quickly
- Tons of options for tweaking the settings (color/contrast/sharpness/brightness/tint/etc.)
- It is very quiet and doesn't produce too much heat

Cons:
- This isn't really a problem with the projector as much as my media switch box. I've got a 360, Wii, Apple TV, and regular cable. I can watch the Apple TV in glorious 720p resolution with sound, but even though I can see the 360's video at 720p, I can't get the 360's sound to come out right in the surround sound.

I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PROJECTOR!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Image, Few drawbacks
I bought this projector to replace an Infocus IN72. The 720p resolution makes a big difference in picture quality and the contrast ratio is very good. Black looks very black. The projector is much quicker to turn on and turn off than my previous one. When turning the projector off, a countdown is shown on the screen and the fan runs very fast, but once the timer reaches 0 the projector is off (completely off, not stuck in a cooling state for 5 minutes). You can start the projector again instantly if you need.

I only see 2 real drawbacks with this unit, it lacks a DVI or M-1 connector so all laptop connections are analog (VGA). Secondly the menus don't offer as much information as other models. The serial number, firmware and model numbers are unavailable in the menus. Some of the menus are difficult to navigate.

Overall I'm happy with the projector, the image is very crisp and clean.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Optoma HD65 Projector
This projector does an outstanding job. Bright and clear picture even with ambient light. I would highly recommend this product.

Amazon.com was great to do business with. Good product price and fast shipping (FREE).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Product On a Budget
This didn't take much shopping around. If you are on a budget and need a great looking projector, this is it. The picture is bright and clear. The HD is perfect. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation because this unit gets warm. I would recommand this to others.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This a MUST BUY if you're interested in a home theater
I waited for several years for the prices for home theater projectors to come down. And the HD65 does not disappoint. The picture quality is great. It is fairly easy to set up. If you are looking to upgrade your home theater with a 780p (HD) capable projector that is below $1000 - this is the perfect projector for you. I cannot recommend this more highly.
