Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Runs Fantastic on 2008 Macbook
It's tricky writing (and reading) reviews for Mac games. If you want to know if the game's worth playing, there are multitudes of reviews for all the platforms on which it's featured. So far, and I've put maybe 4 hours into the game, it's a solid port. If you want to know if COD 4 is worth playing, there's plenty of evidence out there that yes, yes it is.

If you want to know if you can run the thing, let me just say that if you have one of the new round of Macs, it will run easily and beautifully. I've got the 2.4 ghz model, but according to benchmarks, there's not a huge difference between it and the 2.0 as far as frame rate goes. The install itself is so simple I almost thought they were putting me on. They were not, and I just dragged the folder from the CD onto my hard drive. Twenty minutes or so later I was playing the best-looking game I've ever seen.

Multiplayer works awesome, and the fact that you can play against PC nerds is kind of mind-boggling to me. There are always games. And people are very, very good.

I've been using a Mac for 6 years now, this is my second laptop, and the idea that I can buy a modern game that a lot of folks are still playing and run it so well on such a thin and lovely machine makes me a little giddy inside.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Game
I run this game on an iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD 2600 Graphics Processor, OS 10.5.5 (Leopard) and it runs at max settings just fine. I an not a multiplayer so this review concerns only the single player mode. Other reviewers seem to have had problems runnning this game on laptops so your mileage may vary.

I am a real fan of the Call of Duty series and this is the best so far. The graphics are stunning and I had a hard time at first because I would just stand and look around- BANG! I had the same trouble with Halo at first, too. The various missions are well designed and don't seem repetitive, I'm sure the developers used common modules over and over but they were well disguised. There was a minimum of the maze-like hallways and streets that plague other games of this type. Weapons and their effects were well modeled. I especially like the way health is handled in the later COD releases. No more wandering around looking for health pacs! I recommend this game to anyone who likes a well done first person shooter and has a Mac that will run it. I'm ready for the next one.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Doesn't run on most Macs
What they don't tell you in print large enough to see is that this game will not run on Mac minis or MacBooks. It is called Mac compatible, but it is only compatible with the big Mac Pro. They should take this game off the market as being Mac compatible until it really is.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent port of COD4
Works perfectly on my 2008 iMac at a fairly high resolution. The game is super fun in single player, and especially fun on multiplayer. If you want a first person shooter game for your iMac, this one is a must-have.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - good game, great online play
This game is great, totally fantastic. I really should not have bought it, i haven't done school work in weeks. Still great game.
