Rating:  - Kaspersky 2009 Internet Security I recently purchased the new Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 from Amazon after doing research of Security programs. It is highly rated by many companies. Unfortunately, nowhere it the advertisements for Kaspersky Security, does it tell you the program originates in Russia. Nor does it provide any information as to where there are any support offices in the United States. I tried installing the program, which deleted the Norton 360 security program I had been using. After the installation, I could not access the Internet and had no way of contacting Kaspersky for assistants. Per the instructions with the program, which sates, "if you cannot access the Internet after installation, contact your internet provider." I contacted Verizon and the support person spent well over an hour to try and get me back on the net, without success. This left me with one option, remove Kaspersky and have Verizon install their security program. Later, I try to find a regional office for Kaspersky, so that I could return the program. I found an office in Woburn, Massachusetts and explained the problem. Since I purchased the program from Amazon, there was nothing they could do. Having opened the program to install it, I cannot return it to Amazon, so I am stuck with the program. This may be a perfectly good program if you do not have Norton installed on your computer; but I cannot judge it. This product, however, rates excellent both on effiency (it does what it's supposed to do) and on performance (it's fast and yet easy on the cpu). I especially appreciate the fact that it's effient without being a system performance hog like Symantec's product. You hardly know that it's there... I just hope that Kaspersky will keep up the excellent work they've done so far. Rating: - Great productGreat internet security product. I guess the best thing I can say is I've had no trouble since installing it. Installed with no problems. It doesn't seem to slow my 5 yr old Dell down. Love the pre-screening of email. Rating: - Beats all the others that spend all their money on marketingOur technical consultants at work told me about Kaspersky. It is truely much better than the products whose names you already know. It doesn't seem to consume near the system resources and the version I purchased is good for up to three computers. So for one license fee, I get my home computers and my college daughter's notebook covered. It does its updates automatically and is not overly intrusive while trying to get things done. I have never quite trusted the Window's firewall, so I have always purchased third party security software. Kaspersky is the best yet. In over 2 years I have not had a problem on any of my XP computers and I just bought a copy for my son's new Vista Laptop. Great value for the money. Watch for Kaspersky to overtake the big Security software advertisers.... Rating:  - MassiahKaspersky been on my PC for 3 yrs without any problems. But in the month to renew, they certainly remind you with slow updates,system locks up etc. Overall, It's very good. |
