This modern-day Scrooge hates Santa and any soul who loves Christmas. Jack gets a Christmas wake-up call from the Ghost of Christmas Past, who suddenly decides to take a vacation, leaving Jack in the past. Now Jack must team up with the gorgeous Ghost of Christmas Present to save the future of Christmas. Amazon.com: A clever twist on the classic story A Christmas Carol, Chasing Christmas finds its Scrooge in the bitter Jack Cameron (Tom Arnold, Happy Endings), whose wife cheated on him during their daughter's performance in a Christmas pageant and now he does mean things like throw Christmas decorations in the street. Naturally, he becomes the target for the Bureau of Yuletide affairs, who send the Ghost of Christmas Past (Leslie Jordan, Will & Grace) to take Cameron on a tour of his previous holidays. But when the ghost has a personal meltdown and abandons Cameron in 1965, the lovely Ghost of Christmas Present (Andrea Roth, Rescue Me) has to rescue the sourpuss--only to find that romantic sparks arise twixt ghost and man. Chasing Christmas won't win any awards, but it's a modest, enjoyable movie with a theme everyone can agree on: Life must be embraced to be fully lived. Tom Arnold isn't the most charismatic actor, but he has his talents; Roth and Brittney Wilson (Dinosapien) as Cameron's daughter are charming; and the story clips along at a sprightly pace. --Bret Fetzer Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - New look at an old story......I own every version of Dicken's Christmas Carol that I can find, and they all have their good points. In "Chasing Christmas" the "scrooge" character is about as unlikeable as any I've seen, because this one is the dad of a beautiful teenage girl who longs for a normal Christmas. Her dad, who is embittered about Christmas because he caught his wife cheating on him on a Christmas Eve 7 years ago, hates everything about Christmas. Of course there are the usual Ghosts of Christmas, but in a unique twist, ... Read More Rating: - An American Modern Christmas CarolThere are several versions of "A Christmas Carol", and even if this may not be called that the story is basicly the same. Tom Arnold hates Christmas because his ex-wife cheated on him with his dentist on Christmas Eve. When he finally becomes enlightened by things he has no control over with the visits of Christmas spirits, it begins to sink into his head that he doesn't have it so bad. A reasonably decent romantic comedy for the holidays. Recommend you rent it first unless you are a huge Arnold fan. Rating: - Chasing ChristmasI love Christmas movies and wasn't disapointed in this one. It was sappy but good. Surprising Tom Arnold was believeable in this part. Rating: - A Great holiday movie!I enjoyed this movie very much. I could watch it again and again. I just wish the dvd was a little bit cheaper. Rating: - Fun for ChristmasGood twist on an old tale. Tom Arnold is fun and the other actors, too. My family will watch this one season after season. Browse for similar items by category:
